The panel is deliberately small and focused. Each member has direct workshop experience on Jaguar engines, drawn from independent specialist workshops, not dealerships. We do not publish individual names because the panel's role is technical verification, not public endorsement - but their expertise is verified through reference checks with other specialists and through the quality of their review feedback itself. Every panel member has worked on Jaguar powertrains for at least 10 years and can demonstrate specific experience with at least three of the engine families covered on this site, including the AJ-V8 series (AJ133/AJ126), the Ingenium family (204DTD/204PT), and the diesel V6 family (276DT/306DT).
Every page on this site goes through the same three-stage verification process.
The editorial team writes the page, sourcing every number and claim to a specific data tag. No page is submitted for review with untagged figures or unsubstantiated claims.
The page is sent to a panel member with relevant expertise. They check factual accuracy - failure mechanisms, affected models and years, cost ranges, diagnostic sequences - against their own workshop knowledge. They flag any error or disputed claim.
Where the panel flags an error, the editorial team corrects it. Where a claim is disputed but the editorial team's source is verifiable, the page includes a note of the dispute. Where a claim is flagged as unverifiable, it is removed or marked as [ESTIMATED].
The panel's review is technical and specific. They check:
Every page is reviewed by a panel member with specific expertise in the engine family covered. A page about the AJ133 is reviewed by someone who has rebuilt that engine; a page about 204DTD Ingenium by someone who works on that unit regularly. This is not a checkbox approval - it is a substantive verification.

This distinction is critical to maintaining editorial independence. The panel catches factual errors. They do not approve our editorial stance - and we say so, plainly.
Panel members are paid a flat fee for each page review. They are not paid by the specialists who pay us for enquiries. They do not receive commission on content, and they are not incentivised to approve or reject pages based on anything other than technical accuracy.
Panel members are not asked to review the same page type repeatedly to avoid fatigue or bias. Reviews are rotated among members with appropriate expertise, and where two panel members disagree on a factual claim, the editorial team treats that as a dispute to be resolved through additional sourcing rather than a simple majority vote. This is set out in our editorial standards, and our corrections log records any factual errors that were caught after publication despite the review process - we don't pretend the process is perfect.

Where a recurring pattern of errors emerges - for example, persistent misdating of Ingenium tensioner revisions - we update our source reference materials and brief the editorial team accordingly. Where a panel member consistently flags a particular type of claim as unverifiable, we review whether that claim should be made at all.
